Version 3.0 of MATVIS, released on April 30, was designed for Windows XP/Vista. It will also run under Windows 98/2000/NT.
Minimum requirements are a Pentium processor at 166 MHz, a video board with 8 Mb, running at 800x600 - 256 colors. However, this configuration may result in very slow rendering and animation.

The program was tested on a variety of hardware configurations, including a Centrino T7700 Core2 Duo 2.4 GHz running Windows Vista, a P4 at 2.0 GHz running Windows XP, a PIII at 800 MHz running Windows 2000, a P2 at 400 MHz running Windows 98, and a Pentium at 166 MHz running Windows NT.

We recomend a Pentium 4 system with 512 Mb RAM, a 128 Mb Video Board, and running at 1024x768 - 256 colors.

Any common desktop or laptop computer sold in 2009 will support this software without any problems.

The program also has several options for faster rendering or better quality. High-quality images can always be rendered, even is slow machines. Speed is usually only a concern in moving the structures in 3D, rotating and animating them.
