The Main Features of MATVIS are the creation of any new structure and the representation of crystallographic planes.

CREATION OF NEW STRUCTURES:

- structures can be created by addition of atoms and defining the properties of each of them (radius, type, coordinates, and element name).

- each atom in the structure can easily be hidden or shown.

- bonds between atoms are added by defining simply which two atoms in the structure are to be bonded.

- after the structure is completely defined, it can be saved to a file for future use.

- any of the pre-defined structures can be used as a template for creating new structures, by simply loading and editing them.

CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC PLANES:

- several pre-defined planes have been included and can be shown on any of the basic structures.

- any new plane can be defining by its miller indices or coordinates of the corners of the plane.

- for all non-basic structures, you can represent any defined plane, but the pre-defined planes will not be shown.
